A Colourful Concept

Is it just me or do the European versions of the popular women's magazines seem to be better than the crap they put in ours? This year I've been reading UK Marie Claire this year and have read many interesting and empowering articles about women that have started businesses (the eco friendly founder of the Body Shop), environmental issues and much cuter fashions that come in a better variety of sizes. I even came across an interesting company and promptly checked out their website. Turtle Bags are cute and colorful reusable, biodegradable tote bags that won't harm wild life is they happen to end up in the ocean (which they probably won't since people have to pay for them and they are reusable). They also employ people in other countries and pay them a fair wage for manufacturing them. I'm going to order one and then when I receive it I'll follow up on this with my satisfaction with it.

A few of my favorite things...

I'm so glad that one of my favorite past times (Tennis) has decided on their own to become more green. Kudos to the US Open/USTA for their environmental efforts with the help of a wonderful organization (the NRDC). I hope this spreads to the rest of the grand slams (cough, Wimbledon I'm looking at you!).
